Couples Therapy

Things don’t feel the same as they used to.

You and your partner have grown apart. You miss the spark. You’re looking for a deeper connection. Something more meaningful.

I am confident that I can show you a new way forward.

I can help you remember why you chose your partner in the first place. I can help you feel less lonely and more alive again. Together, we can discover the spark that you used to feel and learn what it is like to grow in love.

You will feel supported and challenged to reflect on this road ahead. We’ll also find time to laugh along the way.

How my relational brain was trained.

I was trained in Couples and Family therapy (also referred to as relationship therapy) during grad school. I then perfected my craft in Structural Family Therapy by doing over ten years of community based work with couples, children and their families. I continue to find this way of thinking useful when working with couples who are navigating the difficult work of co-parenting and/or step-parenting.

I also have been shaped by and adore the work of Terry Real. I am a certified Relational Life Therapist within his Relational Life Therapy Model (RLT). Terry’s work speaks to me both personally and professionally, as he encourages therapists to “lovingly confront” individuals about how they can be the best version of themselves. He also encourages therapists to relate to their clients as “fellow travelers” offering stories from our own lives to help highlight that we’ve done the difficult work ourselves so we know what it is that we are asking.

I highly, highly recommend reading Terry’s books: “The New Rules of Marriage” and “US: Getting past you and me to build a more loving relationship.”

Additionally, I am Level 2 trained in the Gottman Method.

I also without a doubt am known for quoting and referencing the wisdom of Esther Perel, Brene Brown and Kristin Neff among many other wonderful therapists and authors.

Let’s talk.
